beach fwys is lessening. The NJ Housewives Reunion special has aired and gone. The Summer is over and all that remains is the pealing of your sunburn. Fun right? All good things that made the summer are shelved. Bad weather, tourists, nice gas prices, ice cream y'know...fun stuff . I have a wide appreciation of hot fun in the summer times. Including Steven Slater, that fantastic JetBlue steward who had the most amazing 'take this job and shove it' exit line of the summer. It's news that he and JetBlue have parted company for good, today. And it's for him that I say "Happy Labor Day"!!! You had the stones to do what we all would love to and became a folk hero along the way. We don't care if there are other reports from passengers saying that you were curt, cranky and couldn't be bothered on that fate full flight. We look past that, for we have all had bad days in customer service (that whirling swirling eddy of despair). We have all seen the beast that is the public. We have suffered their slings and arrows of ingracious behavior. We know the horror that darkens our workplace daily that demand to abuse the system for all they can get. We wish we could tell them where to take their heinousness, but defer to hold onto steady income. It just gets so tempting. Times are tough, and so we must be as well. To all that work year round to keep this great company safe, fed, housed and cared for, Happy Labor Day. Bravo Steven, and have a cold beer with our best!!!!!Labels: Jet Blue, Labor Day, Steven Slater
